A PSYCHEDELIC MINDFULNESS COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE · BOULDER, COLORADO
Medicinal Mindfulness Foundations Church
A community of practice woven from mindfulness, ethics, and the intentional use of sacred medicines — gathered as a church so we can explore consciousness, heal, and grow, together and protected.
We are multicultural, multifaith, and all are welcome. We bring together mindfulness, ethics, community, and psychedelics to elevate our members and our society toward our greatest potential. Legally a church — at heart, a circle.

Vision, Mission & Purpose
In 2019, founder Daniel McQueen faced the reality of climate change and our other existential crises — and chose collective action over hopelessness. That choice grew into the Medicinal Mindfulness Foundations Church. In 2025, the non-profit became a church to best hold the diverse community gathered around the work.
Vision — a world where society uses psychedelics in a sanctified manner for the benefit of humanity and our shared ecology.
Mission — to support our congregation and community in the safety-oriented, lawful, and ethical use of psychedelics for public benefit — through ceremony, spiritual guidance and pastoral care, healing, harm reduction, and education.
Purpose — to gather individuals, communities, and organizations into a skilled collective response to global crises, transforming them into opportunities for healing and self-actualization through sacred communal connection.
The Community & Our Sacraments
Medicinal Mindfulness Foundations Church is legally a church — a protection that lets our members gather and practice with sacred medicines under religious and state law. But at heart we are a psychedelic mindfulness community of practice: non-denominational, non-dogmatic, multifaith, holding one shared belief — that reality is greater than we can imagine and makes room for many paths to meaning. The name Foundations points to the foundational practices — preparation, intention, integration, ethics, and care — that let psychonauts and guides receive the most from these sacraments.
Our Five Programs
As a charitable religious institution, our work flows through five interwoven programs.
Psychedelics, Spirituality & Religion
A multi-faith, inclusive community sharing best practices across healing, therapeutic, religious, and scientific inquiry — advancing shared ethics rooted in western mysticism and global sacred traditions, honoring Indigenous lineages, centering informed consent, and providing oversight through the MM Safe Community Council under Colorado’s Religious Ministry Exemption (C.R.S. § 12-245-217(1)).
Psychedelic Professional Association
Accountability, advocacy, and credentialing for practitioners — public education for the NMHA, ethics and conduct standards for psychedelic guiding, a collective voice with the NMHA/DORA Board of Advisors, shared resources toward dedicated practice space, and support for legacy practitioners moving aboveboard.
Psychedelics, Education & Research
Rigorous inquiry at the intersection of mindfulness, science, and psychedelics — scholarships and community grants, education on cannabis as a psychedelic medicine, funding for research and expeditions in consciousness, harm-reduction guidance, and meaningful therapeutic models including Cannabis-Assisted and Mindfulness-Based Psychedelic Therapy.
Psychedelics & Sustainability
Articulating the connection between psychedelics and sustainability, developing faith-based protocols for ecological problem-solving, supporting lawful and culturally conscious access, and addressing the existential distress, consumerism, and apathy that arise when we confront the ecological crises of our time.
Commitment to Safe Access
Support, education, and harm reduction for safety-oriented access to Natural Medicines — grounded in precision, purity, accurate dosing, and deep respect for each journeyer’s history, capacity, and intention.
Practice & Community Circles
Foundations is built for ongoing practice, not one-off experiences. As a member you’re invited into a rhythm of free circles and affordable group experiences, supported by spiritual care throughout.
Scheduled circles and gatherings are posted on the Psychedelic Shine events page and community calendar — check there for upcoming dates and registration.
Free member circles (donation-based): Community Meeting & Practice · Integration Circle · Mindfulness Circle · Movement Circle · Creative Arts Circle.
Community circles & group experiences — affordable, safety-screened, up to 15 participants, with member discounts:
Membership requires a Psychedelic Safety Questionnaire and agreement; each event has its own participation agreement and waiver. Scholarship rate = member rate. Many non-medicine and cannabis circles offer online participation.
Accessibility & Affinity Circles — small groups of 5–9 for advanced practice with cannabis, ketamine, mushrooms, and N,N-DMT. Affordable, with a scholarship value on top of already-low rates (simple application). Practice-subscription credit can also cover individual coaching, counseling, or psychedelic services.

DMTx & the Psychonaut Training
To join Foundations is to join a community of explorers who care about intentionality, integrity, skill, ethics, and good boundaries — and who also want fun, adventurous experiences. The DMTx Project gives us a joyful reason to train: through targeted infusion of pure, naturally extracted N,N-DMT, DMTx creates extended, stable expeditions into the Realm of Spirit — the peak experience of all psychedelic medicines. Learn more at www.dmtx.org.
While our advanced training prepares guides, the DMTx Psychonaut Training prepares everyone to be a great explorer. The webinar series is $99 — or free with the DMTx Supporter designation. Paired with the free Integration, Mindfulness, Movement, and Creative Arts circles, it builds the foundation for safe, skillful practice. Not quite ready? Join at a nominal rate and grow into it.
